A Valley Center man has pleaded guilty to a 2018 crash that killed an off-duty Wichita police officer and the officer’s son.

39-year-old James Dalrymple pleaded guilty to two counts of involuntary manslaughter while driving under the influence.   He will be sentenced in November.

Prosecutors said Dalrymple was driving a pickup truck that pulled in front of a motorcycle at 21st Street North and 167th Street West on the night of April 27th, 2018.   The crash killed 37-year-old Wichita police officer Stacey Woodson.  His son, 10-year-old Braeden Woodson, died later at a hospital.

Prosecutors said Dalrymple had alcohol and drugs in his system at the time of the crash.
