Madison Police arrest armed robbery, carjacking suspect following chase

MADISON, Wis. — Madison Police have arrested a suspect accused of armed robbery, assault, and carjacking following a chase Friday.

Police say the suspect pointed a gun at someone and demanded cash in the 3000 E block of Washington Ave. before fleeing the scene. Police later saw a vehicle believed to be involved in the robbery traveling on E Washington Ave.

Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused and a chase spanning multiple jurisdictions ensued. Police shortly ended the chase after the suspect drove towards a school zone during school release hours.

Police later found the vehicle abandoned, before receiving a report of an assault and carjacking. Officers found the stolen car and the suspect, who ran into an address on Willow Rock Rd.

Police were then able to contact, and arrest, the suspect.
