Los Angeles Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani dominates pretty much all of baseball — except the Houston Astros. The stats back up that assertion.

Ohtani is the MVP favorite in the American League with Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. breathing down his neck. While Shohei’s numbers are incredible against pretty much all of baseball — as in 29 teams — his stats against the Astros are fairly atrocious.

The 27-year-old has a 7.03 ERA against Houston for his career. That’s…not ideal.

On Friday night, that trend continued as Ohtani was removed after just 3.1 innings pitched despite hitting his 44th home run of the season. The Astros won the game, 10-5, including 16 hits as a team.

Houston Astros fans love the fact that they own Shohei Ohtani

Astros fans are among the most boisterous in the sport, and when they own you, they own you. The Angels aren’t in prime playoff position, while Houston is. The Astros hold a 5.5-game lead over the Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics in the AL West.

So, it’s tough to blame Astros fans for backing their team on Twitter.

There were more where that came from.

When you have one of the best players in baseball’s numbers, you ought to flaunt that fact.

Next. Carlos Correa is done with the Astros after this season. dark
