10 years strong: Here's when a popular vintage shopping event will begin in Scottsdale

A decade ago, the first Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market was a backyard shopping event in Phoenix for people searching for handmade and vintage items to fill their homes.

This month, the semiannual event in the Valley is celebrating its 10th anniversary at a considerably larger venue with a marketplace of more than 130 vendors from across the country.

The market will be open through the weekend, Friday-Sunday, Sept. 17-19, at WestWorld of Scottsdale. Shoppers can wander from one merchant stall to another while enjoying live music, and there will also be food trucks outside.

The venue does not require face coverings.

However, keep in mind that due to the spread of the highly contagious delta variant, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone — especially people ages 2 years and older who are not fully vaccinated — should wear face coverings inside, regardless of vaccination status. Maricopa County falls under this guidance for areas "of substantial or high transmission."
