HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Two people were injured in a shooting on Bermuda Drive early Friday morning.

Calls came through around 3:45 a.m. for shots fired in the 3500 block of Bermuda Drive.

An HPD officer on the scene said that the altercation began after a homeowner confronted a ‘prowler’ who was loitering around their home.

HPD later confirmed with News 19 that both the homeowner and the suspect sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

When authorities arrived, the suspect had fled the scene on foot but was located shortly after by a police K-9.

The two people were transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.
