Nebraska Outdoor Education Center to host Director’s Take Aim Games
The Nebraska Outdoor Education Center in Lincoln is hosting The Director’s Take Aim Games on Aug. 21.The games consist of various shooting sports, such as indoor rifle, outdoor archery, tomahawk throwing, slingshots and more. The games allow teams of up to seven players for the competition.“Shooting sports and outdoor activities are a fun activity for families and young adults. We invite everyone to come to this event, no matter your level of experience, to participate and have fun,” Director Jim Douglas said. “We will have trained staff on-hand to help beginners and a good time will be had by all.”The NOEC says during the competition teams will rotate as a group through four different activities depending on the age of the youngest team member. Ages 6-7:Complete a hike while shooting at archery targets along the way Shoot at the air gun gallery Use slingshots Create archery art by aiming for balloons filled with paintAges 8-15 The archery hikeShoot at the rimfire rangeThrow ancient spearsShattering target archeryAges 16 and older The archery hikeShoot at the rimfire rangeThrow tomahawksFlying target archery To participate you can register online at the Director's Take Aim Games event page. The entry fee is $25 per team, plus an additional $5 per team member.

  • Use slingshots
  • Create archery art by aiming for balloons filled with paint

Ages 8-15

  • The archery hike
  • Shoot at the rimfire range
  • Throw ancient spears
  • Shattering target archery

Ages 16 and older

  • The archery hike
  • Shoot at the rimfire range
  • Throw tomahawks
  • Flying target archery
