TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Terre Haute Humane Society announced Monday it would be closed to the public for the rest of the week due to several staff members contracting COVID-19. They say the staff members who were COVID-19 positive were not in close contact with any customers.

The Humane Society said they are in the process of rescheduling and scheduled appointments and will not be open to the public on Friday, Saturday or Sunday this week.

They are not accepting any animals at this time, and they plan to re-evaluate at the end of the week. They will make an announcement about the status of the shelter next week.
