Derby Man ID'd As Victim In Fatal Shelton Motorcycle Crash: PD

The crash occurred on July 27 on the Derby/Shelton Bridge.

SHELTON, CT — A 60-year-old Derby man has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash on July 27 that temporarily closed the Derby/Shelton Bridge, according to Shelton police.

David Guliuzza was pronounced dead at the hospital following the 2:20 p.m. two-vehicle crash. The operator of the other vehicle, Shelton resident Donald Wolanin, 65, was not injured.

"The preliminary investigation by police revealed that the driver of the motorcycle was traveling on the Derby/Shelton Bridge headed into downtown Shelton, and the driver of the vehicle was on Riverside Drive headed towards Bridge Street when the accident occurred," police said on Facebook (see below).

The crash remains under investigation by the Shelton Police Department Traffic Division Reconstruction Team, but "no enforcement action has been taken at this time."
