“On Saturday, July 24th, 2021, at approximately 07:50 p.m., a Santa Rosa Police Officer was in the area of the Hwy 12 off-ramp and Stony Point Rd when she observed a vehicle with two different license plates on it.

The officer attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle at Hwy 12 off-ramp and Stony Point Rd, but the driver failed to stop. The officer initiated a vehicle pursuit and, during the pursuit, the driver of the vehicle violated numerous traffic laws while officers pursued in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The driver drove in excess of 80 mph on Sebastopol Rd and turned northbound onto N. Wright Rd, at which time the vehicle slowed and an unknown occupant exited the vehicle and ran east toward the Joe Rodota Trail. The driver accelerated the vehicle again and continued northbound on Fulton Rd, again violating numerous traffic laws. The pursuing officers briefly lost sight of the vehicle on Fulton Rd, just south of W. Third St. Within seconds, officers located the vehicle, unoccupied, on W. Third St, just east of Fulton Rd. The vehicle appeared to have collided with a curb, which destroyed the front tire. Citizens in the area advised officers they observed two subjects exit the vehicle after the collision and run south into a nearby neighborhood.

Officers set up a perimeter in that area and located the two suspects while they attempted to flee. Both suspects were detained without incident.

One of the suspects was identified as Antonio Masco Resendez, a 25-year-old Santa Rosa resident.
Resendez was arrested and booked into jail on the following charges:

-3056 PC – Parole Violation
-148(a) PC – Obstruct/Delay a Peace Officer – Misdemeanor
-11350(a) H&S – Possession of a Narcotic

The other occupant of the vehicle was identified as Endy Jared Mendoza, a 23-year-old Santa Rosa resident, who was arrested and booked into jail for a violation of 3056 PC – Parole Violation.

Officers set up a perimeter in the area of the Joe Rodota Trail and N. Wright Rd in an attempt to locate the subject who fled on foot during the pursuit. The subject was not located, however, officers located a Glock 9mm in a field at the location where the subject fled.”
