Another well-known chain restaurant is about to open in Covington.

A little more than a year after Zaxby’s opened for business on the south side of town, Jack’s will open its doors for business in the morning on the north side.

Construction began a few months ago at 930 Highway 51 North, across the street from Naifeh’s Cash Saver and next door to Walgreens.

It’s a fast-food chain based in Birmingham, Ala. with nearly 200 locations in Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and Mississippi. It features southern-style fare like burgers, chicken, fries, milkshakes and breakfast items like scratch-made biscuits.

“Jack’s is proud to be a community favorite,” said Todd Bartmess, Jack’s Family Restaurants CEO. “The relationships we share with our guests are truly special, which is why we are excited to celebrate the opening of this location by offering a special promotion to members of the Covington community.”

The first 50 customers tomorrow will receive a free breakfast for one month. It opens at 5 a.m.

According to a press release, the new location “features the Jack’s Southern Charm design, which includes a large, open-concept dining room filled with natural light and a window through which guests can see their biscuits being made from scratch, porch seating with rocking chairs and a porch window.”
