U.S. Venture Open cancels dinner due to COVID-19

APPLETON (WLUK) -- Due to the rising coronavirus infections, an area golf event is making some changes.

The U.S. Venture Open has canceled its post-event dinner at Van Abels and planned guest, actress Charlize Theron, will not be in attendance.

The Welcome Reception and Golf are outdoor events that will proceed as planned. Attendees and volunteers are asked to wear a mask if they go indoors.

“While we understand and share in the disappointment that dinner will not proceed as planned, U.S. Venture has kept the well-being of its customers, team members, and community partners at the forefront throughout the pandemic by consistently following CDC guidelines,” said Greg Vandenberg, director of giving and community engagement for U.S. Venture. “We are grateful to be able to continue with the Welcome Reception and Golf outdoors and truly appreciate the community’s ongoing support of the U.S. Venture Open and its mission to end poverty across Northeastern Wisconsin.”
