Fire Damages Home On Scarlett Lane Near Woodstock

WOODSTOCK, GA β€” Three adults and a child escaped without any injuries after their house on in Woodstock caught fire.

Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services responded to a fire after 11 a.m. on Saturday at 328 Scarlett Lane, located off Arnold Mill Road, in Woodstock. Cherokee County 911 received a call from an individual who said flames were coming from the back of the home and they were trying to get everyone out.

According to Cherokee County Fire Investigator Miguel Castro, the fire started from a burn barrel that caught pine needles on fire which then traveled to the home.

Castro also said the house is not livable, and more than three-fourths of the house was burned. There was significant damage to the roof and to the back side of the structure.

Three adults and one child were living in the house and all got out without any injuries. The American Red Cross has been called to assist the family.
