(WWJ) A man arrested last month for kidnaping a child and holding her captive in Detroit is now charged with killing her father and his friend.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said 29-year-old Dangelo Cash Clemons of Detroit was arranged in 36th District Court Tuesday in the slayings of 23-year-old Larry Brown and 44-year-old Colby Millsap, also of Detroit.

On July 3, Clemons was charged in connection with the kidnapping of Millsap’s 5-year-old daughter.

Just before 10:30 p.m. on June 30, Detroit police officers were dispatched to the area of Schaefer Highway and Capitol Street in Detroit on a call about a child being held captive in a house.

Inside a neighboring home, officers found Millsap and Brown dead, both with gunshot wounds to the head.

It is alleged, according to prosecutors, that Clemons fatally shot the victims before abducting Millsap's young daughter and fleeing to the house next door.

Fortunately, the little girl was recovered safely and Clemons was arrested.

“The charges in this case are the result of a month of coordinated, consistent work between my office and police agencies,” said Worthy, in a statement. “The allegations in this case are brutal and tragic, but the only silver lining is that the child involved here was able to signal for help and was found alive."

Clemons has been charged with one count of Felony Murder, one count of First-Degree Murder and two counts of Felony Firearm.

Following his court appearance, he was remanded to jail where he awaits a Probable Cause Conference scheduled for August 20.
