Oklahoma City Police are searching for the body of missing teen Haylie Gonzalez near Lake Overholser.

According to OKCPD, they received a tip that her body may be in the area.

Gonzalez is presumed dead after she went missing on July 4th.

According to court documents, her suspected killer, Eduardo Bonilla-Lopez, allegedly shot and killed the teen at a party.

Witnesses told police Bonilla-Lopez facetimed them after the shooting and asked for help but refused to take her to the hospital.

According to court records, he told witnesses that he was just going to dump her body and then called the witnesses again saying he took care of it.

Bonilla-Lopez is facing charges of first-degree murder and kidnapping.

“It makes me sad knowing he was trying to get rid of the body, and her just trying to ask for help," said Adriana Mendoza, a close family friend. “I wish I could be there to help her out, like other times I used to help her out."

Mendoza says Haylie lived with her for about a year.

A group of close friends has been searching too.

Mendoza wants to keep Haylie's memory alive.

“I want them to remember her as a sweet girl, always with a smile," Mendoza said. "Always trying to make you have a good day, even if you were going through bad days."
