New this year at Wisconsin State Fair -- Cranberry Cake Pops!

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Cranberry lovers, listen up! The Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association (WSCGA) will debut a new way for cran-fans to enjoy Wisconsin’s State Fruit during this year’s festivities. In partnership with O&H Danish Bakery, WSCGA will offer a new product – the Cranberry Cake Pop – at its booth in the Wisconsin Products Pavilion.

According to a news release, the tasty treat features layers of yellow cake sandwiching 4 layers of cranberry filling, and dipped in chocolate ganache all on a stick! The dessert offers the perfect mix of sweet and tart flavors and joins other Fair favorites on WSCGA’s menu board this year.

“We’re thrilled to work with O&H Danish Bakery, one of our “Made with Wisconsin Cranberries” partners, to create this exciting new product,” said Tom Lochner, executive director of WSCGA. “We are proud of our role as the world’s largest producer of cranberries, and we are excited to offer Fair visitors another way to enjoy Wisconsin.”

WSCGA partnered with O&H for previous State Fairs, producing the famous Cranberry Cannoli. Other cranberry food products for the 2021 Fair include the famous State Fair Cranberry White Chocolate Chunk Cookie, dried cranberry snack packs, cranberry juice cocktail and other beverages.

In addition to food sales, the booth, located in the Wisconsin Products Pavilion, will feature cranberry hats and shirts for sale, educational videos about the state’s number one fruit crop, a cranberry photo booth and the popular interactive mini-marsh, complete with real vines, an irrigation system and floating fresh cranberries. Ruby the cranberry mascot will also make appearances at the booth daily from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

WSCGA was founded in 1887 and is committed to developing and implementing programs that will assist growers in doing a better job of growing cranberries and strengthening the public support for the industry in Wisconsin.
