Child among 2 killed in wrong-way crash on I-15

Updated August 3, 2021 - 10:34 pm

Two people were killed, including a child, in a wrong-way crash on Monday night about 12 miles south of Moapa.

The crash involved a driver traveling south in a northbound lane of Interstate 15, Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman Travis Smaka said.

More details on the circumstances of the crash and the number of vehicles involved were not available. Investigators suspect impairment was a factor.

The Clark County coroner’s office on Tuesday identified one of the people killed as 19-year-old Javarius Barfield, of Lawrenceville, Georgia. The child who died had not been identified.
