Linton, In Man Arrested Following High Speed Chase

(Undated) – A weekend domestic disturbance led to a high-speed chase and the arrest of a Linton, Indiana man. According to Sullivan County Sheriff, Clark Cottom, Sunday afternoon they received a report from the ex-wife of Johnny Turpin Jr. She reported that he had held a pair of scissors against her throat causing a small cut. She also said Turpin took her handgun and threatened to hurt himself if she called the police. When police tried to pull Turpin over, he drove off and a brief chase ensued. Officers finally caught up with Turpin and took him into custody without incident. Turpin was charged with multiple counts, including intimidation and domestic battery. He was booked into the Sullivan County Jail.
