LOS ANGELES, CA — Authorities on Monday issued a missing person alert for a 24-year-old man almost two months after the U.S. Coast Guard called off a search for him in the water three miles off the coast of Long Beach.

Los Angeles Sheriff's Department investigators are asking for help finding Keion Jamir Dade, of Moreno Valley, who was last seen on a ferry headed from Long Beach to Catalina Island at about 5:45 p.m. June 10. At the time of his disappearance, U.S. Coast Guard officials reported that ferry crew members witnessed Dade jump or fall into the water a few miles off the Los Angeles County coast.

At the time of Dade's disappearance, Greg Bombard, president of Catalina Express, indicated through a spokeswoman that the boat's crew members went into immediate man overboard response, throwing a life ring within seconds of the man going overboard, using its GPS tracker to backtrack its path to where the incident happened. They simultaneously alerted the US Coast Guard to the situation. Responding agencies included the US Coast Guard, Long Beach Fire Department, Bay Watch, Los Angeles and Long Beach Pilot Boats as well as private vessels that were on the scene within minutes.
