Man arrested in connection with apparent road rage shooting in Northeast El Paso

A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shooting at a vehicle in an apparent Northeast El Paso road rage incident that resulted in a man suffering multiple gunshot wounds, officials said.

David Saenz allegedly fired several gunshots about 12:30 a.m. June 19 during a dispute with another driver in the 10100 block of Dyer Street, El Paso Police Department officials said.

The two victims were driving on Dyer Street when the dispute happened with Saenz, who also was driving on Dyer, officials said.

The dispute continued when Saenz allegedly pulled out a gun and fired several shots at the two in the other car.

The passenger of the vehicle was struck multiple times, officials said. The severity of the injuries and the victim's current condition were not released.

Saenz was arrested July 27 in connection with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a $1 million bond. He has yet to post bail, according to jail records.
