STREETWISE

The best chicken restaurants, Bay Park Square and Allouez updates

Alexandria Bursiek Kloehn
Green Bay Press-Gazette

Welcome back to the Streetwise newsletter!

Since I joined the Press-Gazette in 2020, I've covered a lot of chicken stories: I've written about Popeyes, Chick-fil-A and Mad Chicken. But last week, I didn't write about fast-food chicken. I wrote abut the local restaurants readers, like you, recommend.

The story details your top three choices — unsurprisingly, all three places are long-standing local businesses with a lot of experience making chicken.

Besides writing about poultry being roasted, broasted and deep-fried, I also wrote about two new businesses opening at Bay Park Square Mall: an ax-throwing venue and a co-op artist gallery.

Jeff Bollier has been covering a redevelopment in Allouez, which will lead to the demolition of the Webster Center strip mall. In a follow-up story, I explain what happened to the six businesses — including Kaap's Old World Chocolates, Kiefer Uniforms and Gallagher's Pizza — that previously operated out of the strip mall.

And, in case you missed it, I also recently wrote about two new Scooter's Coffee locations opening in Green Bay and Ashwaubenon.

If you have any questions or tips, please don't hesitate to email me at abursiekkloehn@gannett.com and consider subscribing to the Press-Gazette if you enjoy my coverage.
