Body discovered following motorcycle crash in Millbury

MILLBURY — Following an overnight motorcycle accident in Millbury, the body of the driver was discovered Saturday, the Worcester District Attorney's office said.  

Timothy J. Connolly, communications director for Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr., said that a man in his early 20s was driving his motorcycle on Grafton Street in Millbury, when he lost control and went off the road, eventually colliding with a telephone pole.

Preliminary investigation findings place the time of the accident at around 1:15 a.m. Saturday, Connolly said. 

Friends of the driver who were with him Friday reported him missing Saturday. 

A search conducted by police uncovered the driver's body inside a high grass field, Connolly said. 

The name of the driver has not been released. 

Connolly said the investigation is ongoing.
