CDC: Nebraska COVID-19 transmission by county

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The CDC regularly shares updates on transmission rates in every county across the U.S.

While general transmission rates are still high, Nebraska boasts some of the lowest levels of transmission in the country.

Low transmission is marked in blue, moderate in yellow, substantial in orange and high transmission in red.

Most of the high population counties, like Lancaster, Douglas and Sarpy counties, are sitting in the red while more rural counties see low to moderate levels of transmission.

The CDC said the look at the number of new cases per 1,000 people and the percent of positive tests in the past week. A rate higher than 10 percent is considered high.
