New mystery residents coming to the Mississippi Aquarium

The Mississippi Aquarium is currently constructing a new exhibit. However, the animals that will inhabit the new space are being kept a secret from its guests.

The aquarium is still repairing damages from Hurricane Zeta. The river exhibit is their newest construction.

This habitat will feature new animals not yet featured at the aquarium. The mystery residents will not be revealed until the exhibit officially opens.

The work-in-progress has attracted the attention of some on Facebook who are curious as to what the new animals will be. Manager of Interpretation for Mississippi Aquarium Hadiya White said, “We are taking guesses on our social sites for what you think those animals might be. So right behind us we are going to be expanding this sort of river system. So, you guys have an opportunity to come back and visit us and follow us on social media to find out what those animals are going to be.”

The new exhibit is set to open up and reveal the new guest in about eight to ten weeks.
