Dayton man referring to himself as ‘Jesus’ charged, accused of attacking man with baseball bat

DAYTON — A man is facing a felonious assault charged after he was accused of attacking another man with a baseball bat about 50 times, according to court records.

Nathan Akemon, 20, of Dayton, was arrested July 30 and booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

Police said Akemon was at a dinner with another man in the 300 block of Linwood Street, when officers said he attacked the victim.

“Nathan began referring to himself as ‘Jesus’ and (the victim) as ‘Satan’,” according to court records. “(The victim) refused to refer to Nathan as ‘Jesus’.”

That’s when police said Akemon ended up attacking the man with a baseball bat about 50 times before running away, according to court records.

The victim ended up going to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of cuts, a broken wrist and broken thumb, according to records.

Akemon’s bond was set at $25,000.
