Sevierville Police: One dead, 2 detained following shooting at East TN waterpark

Sevierville Police Department responded to a reported shooting at Soaky Mountain Waterpark that left one person dead and another injured just after 8 p.m. Saturday night.

31-year-old Sarah Romine, from Knoxville was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and multiple counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm while intoxicated.

Police believe Romine shot both victims.

30-year-old Joshua Dannels, from Crossville was also arrested and charged with possession of a firearm while intoxicated.

Police says 24-year-old Kelsy Cook from Loudon was airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Another woman also from Loudon was transported to LeConte Medical Center suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

Police in East Tennessee are investigating after a shooting outside a waterpark sends two women to the hospital.

According to WATE in Knoxville, it happened at the Soaky Mountain Water Park in Sevierville, Tenn. just after 8:00 p.m. Saturday.

WATE reports cites Sevierville Police saying three people are detained, including the alleged shooter.

The shooting victims were taken to separate hospitals in the East Tennessee area, according to WATE.

WATE has not received word yet on the victims' conditions.
