‘I must stab you today’ suspect allegedly says before chasing victim with sharp object in Roxbury

BOSTON — A Boston man is now facing charges after he was arrested for allegedly chasing a male victim with a sharp object in the MBTA Transit Police Department parking lot in Roxbury on Sunday morning.

At approximately 10:45 a.m., Transit Police officers, assigned to Operations at TPD-HQ, observed a male, later identified as Michael Alemu, 26, of Boston, chasing another male with a sharp object.

Shortly after, several other officers proceeded outside the headquarters to investigate. The victim being chased appeared frighted and sought refuge behind the officers.

Police told Boston 25, according to the victim, Alemu approached him on Southhampton Street and said, “I must stab you today.” The victim stated he has no prior familiarity with Alemu and was in fear of his life.

Officers discovered that Alemu also has several warrants out for his arrest issued out of Leominster District Court for shoplifting, larceny over 1,200, and possession of a controlled substance.

Alemu was later arrested and is now facing charges for assault by means of a dangerous weapon. Alemu was walked into MBTA Transit Police Department for the arrest booking process.
