Chase begins in Pearl, ends in Jackson
One suspect is in custody and another is on the run after a police chase.
Two people were traveling Sunday afternoon on Highway 49 South when they ran through a Pearl police traffic stop, according to Greg Flynn, a spokesman for the city of Pearl. Officers said a gun was thrown out of the vehicle during the pursuit.
The vehicle took off, going south into Richland, where Richland and Pearl police chased the car into Jackson. Officers said a gun was thrown out of the vehicle during the pursuit. The chase continued until the car crashed in bushes on Mosley Avenue, Flynn said.
Pearl police took the driver into custody, but the passenger got away, Flynn said.
No one appeared to be injured during the incident, Flynn said.
The names of those involved have not been released.
