Award-winning chef Mathieu Palombino (Motorino) will launch his latest venture Gigi & Mario in Bergen County this September.

As previously previewed exclusively by Boozy Burbs, he’s departing from his signature Neapolitan pizza with large, shareable pies — with the addition of a number of Italian mainstays to City Place in Edgewater.

Pizza will be cooked in a Neapolitan Acunto oven and dough will be crafted from a blend of American flours — plus California tomatoes in the sauce and fresh mozzarella from local artisans.

Pies will include toppings like spicy soppressata, Calabrian chilies, soppressata, burrata, fennel sausage and more.

No specific date just yet, but their social media accounts are now hyping a likely fall opening.
