BALTIMORE (WBFF) - The group "people empowered by the struggle" will be leading a protest in front of Baltimore City Hall Tuesday evening, calling for Baltimore City Schools CEO Dr. Sonja Santelises to resign.

Jason Rodriguez and other members of the non-profit group will be protesting at 5pm on Tuesday, August 3rd.

They also have a major demand for Baltimore's state lawmakers in Annapolis.

The protest comes after startling revelations about student performance.

As project Baltimore first reported:

41% of Baltimore city public high school students earned below a 1.0 G.P.A during the first three quarters of this year.

And 57 % of all elementary and middle school students-- have one or more failing grades.

Former mayoral candidate Yolanda pulley, who spoke with project Baltimore last week.

She says she's embarrassed to have sent her children and grandchildren to Baltimore city schools.

“I definitely think that we deserve better, and people need to stop letting their silence be their consent. Because as long as we don't say anything, they consider it that we're okay with it. And I’m not okay with any of this.”
