SAN DIEGO (CNS) – At least one person was killed Sunday on an on-ramp to Interstate 15 freeway in San Diego.

The crash happened on the eastbound Mira Mesa Boulevard on-ramp and was reported at 3:39 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Brad Kvedris told City News Service he was driving north on the 15 when he saw a number of cars stopped near the on-ramp.

“I got there a minute or two after the accident must have happened and just as a CHP motorcycle officer pulled up,” Kvedris said. “I saw a woman laying on her back, seemingly unresponsive and there was someone there pumping on her chest, giving her CPR.”

Kvedris said he stayed there a number of minutes, but didn’t want to get in the way. He said it was his assumption that one of the cars stopped there was a motorist who hit the pedestrian.

It appeared from the CHP log the victim was a pedestrian, but unclear if any arrests were made.

No information about the age of the victim was immediately known.
