Good Samaritan saves cat thrown from vehicle on highway
A cat thrown from a moving vehicle is now in a safe home. The Boone Area Humane Society took to Facebook to share the cat's story. Someone in vehicle driving 55 mph on a highway threw the cat out onto the road. A person driving behind the vehicle stopped to save the cat and rushed her to Iowa State's College of Veterinary Medicine. The Good Samaritan wasn't able to grab the license plate number. "She was stabilized by the veterinarians and now being cared for by staff who took her home last night," the officials with the Boone Area Humane Society wrote on Facebook. "She was covered in flea so badly that the vets at ISU wrapped a towel around her just to keep the fleas out of her face. She has been treated for the fleas, but she is very underweight and anemic from all the fleas. She somehow does not appear to have any major internal injuries, but she is not eating on her own and she is not out of danger yet."The Boone Area Humane Society is asking for donations toward her medical bill which was $325, saying "no amount is too small to help." The fundraiser has already raised $810.
