Officials are searching for a missing San Mateo woman and her son.
Ana Duarte, 36, and her three-year-old son, Ian Duarte, left their San Mateo home at 11 a.m. Friday to visit relatives in Belmont. They never made it to their destination.
In a Twitter post, the Belmont Police Department asked for the public's help in locating the mother and son.
According to a police report, Duarte’s car was discovered parked on E St. in Belmont.
Family of the missing woman and son suggested that they may have left Belmont with Duarte’s ex-boyfriend, Isaias Alejo-Hernandez.
Police located Alejo-Hernandez’s white 2007 Nissan Versa on Sunday, however, they did not release any further information regarding the missing pair.
This is an on-going investigation.
