2-year-old in extremely critical condition after being pulled from Phoenix pool

A 2-year-old girl pulled from a pool in Phoenix was taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition on Saturday, according to Phoenix fire officials. 

Phoenix and Guadalupe firefighters responded to a home near 48th Street and Elliot Road after receiving reports of a 2-year-old girl who was pulled out of a pool, Phoenix fire spokesperson David Ramirez said in an email. 

The girl was unresponsive and her family was providing CPR when crews first arrived at the scene, Ramirez said. 

She was ultimately taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition, Ramirez said. Phoenix fire said there were no updates as of Sunday morning. 

The girl's family told officials at the scene she had been "missing for a couple of minutes," according to Ramirez.
