An 18-year-old man died from injuries he sustained during a shooting incident which occurred shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday evening.

According to Hinesville Police Department Detective, Kyle Larimore, the shooting victim was shot outside an apartment in the Y building of the Harbor Rain apartment complex located on the 600 block of Saunders Ave.  According to Hinesville Police Chief Lloyd Slater the victim was not a resident of the apartment complex.
The victim was transported by a privately owned vehicle to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville and later transported by ambulance to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.

Slater said HPD was notified around midnight that the victim had died from his wounds.
Slater said he could not comment further on the active investigation. The Chief said they are conducting interviews and following leads.  Slater is asking for the public’s help with any information they may have.  Call HPD at 912-368-8211.
