South Fort Myers crash claims life, causes roadblock on Plantation Road
A 27-year-old Fort Myers man was killed Sunday morning in a single-car crash on Plantation Road at Willow Lake Drive in south Fort Myers.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the car was southbound on Plantation shortly before 10:45 a.m. when it traveled off the right side of the road, into the grass shoulder and hit a tree.
The driver died at the scene.
The fatality is the 62nd death on Lee County roads in 2021, according to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
