Parkway Problems, UPMC's Romoff Retiring And More: Weekly Wrap
Time to catch up on the week's top stories, presented as always in a convenient linkable format.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Route 28 already is under construction - again. PennDOT recently announced the Parkway East's Commercial Street Bridge , the one leading into the eastern side of the Squirrel Hill Tunnel needs, to be replaced. Then came word that the Parkway West also needs a bit of work.
PennDOT officials held a virtual forum last week detailing upcoming Parkway West project near the Fort Pitt Tunnel to alleviate daily recurring congestion, travel time delays and above-average crash rates.
Patch knows what you're asking: What, no Parkway North inconvenience to add to commute times. No, but it's only been a few years since PennDOT spent more than two years virtually rebuilding that highway.
