Twin City Players holds auditions for 'Hill House'

ST. JOSEPH — Twin City Players will hold auditions for “The Haunting of Hill House” at 2 p.m. Aug. 14 and noon Aug. 15 at 600 W. Glenlord Road.

Written by F. Andrew Leslie and based on the novel by Shirley Jackson, the psychological thriller presents a chilling and mystifying study in mounting terror in which a small group of psychically receptive people are brought together in Hill House, a brooding, mid-Victorian mansion known as a place of evil and ill will. Led by the learned Dr. Montague, who is conducting research into supernatural phenomena, the visitors have come to probe the secrets of the old house and draw forth the mysterious powers that it allegedly possesses.

Auditions will include cold reads from the script. Characters are not based in any particular ethnicity, and all are encouraged to audition.

Julia Farrell Diefenbach directs the production.

Performances are Oct. 22 to Nov. 7.
