SAN ANTONIO -- You hear of stray cats and dogs all the time, but have you heard of a stray guinea pig?

That's the story of Squeakers who was left abandoned on the sidewalk outside of Ms. D's San Antonio home.

The City of San Antonio's Animal Care Services (ACS) says Ms. D walked outside of her home one morning to find Squeakers in a cage.

She called 311 when Officer Austin arrived and was able to bring Squeakers safely back to ACS.

It wasn't long before she was able to quickly find her forever home.

The city says you could adopt more than just a dog or cat at ACS.

From time to time, they do get animals like rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, and birds. If you are interested in adopting a “pocket” pet like Squeakers, check out our website at: saacs.info/adopt
