Providence Fire Department on scene of a fire on Simmons St.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Providence Fire Department is on the scene of a three-alarm fire on Simmons St.

According to a post from the Providence Fire Fighters’ union, 59 firefighters were brought to the scene.

Witnesses tell ABC6 News they saw a firefighter taken away in a stretcher. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
