Santa Clara County Fair Kicks Off In Scaled-Back Form

Typically, the fair would feature carnival rides and other activities, but instead the focus will be on the livestock exhibits.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — The Santa Clara County Fair began Friday in a scaled-back version from what organizers originally planned, but still features livestock evaluation and a hybrid auction.

The original plan, announced earlier this year, included a drive-thru food fair, but the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds are still being used as a COVID-19 testing and vaccination site. Due to recent heightened concerns over the coronavirus, the site remains active.

  • 7/31 - Dairy Goat and Pygmy Goat Show
  • 8/1 - Dog Show and Cavy Show

  • 8/6 - Beef Show and Hog Show

  • 8/8 - Master Showmanship

Typically, the fair would feature carnival rides and other activities, but instead the focus will be on the over 400 entries in the livestock exhibit and over 500 still exhibit entries, according to KRON 4.
