COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Franklin County is one of five Central Ohio counties that jumped to orange on the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) COVID-19 community transmission map.
Orange is the second-highest level on the map and indicates there is substantial community spread in the county.
Licking, Ross, Marion and Pickaway counties are also in orange on the map.
County's that are in red have high community spread. The CDC is recommending everyone, regardless of vaccination status wear a mask if they are in a red or orange county.
Ohio has reported more than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases for four consecutive days as the delta variant continues to spread.
