SEATTLE – The Celebrity Millennium cruise ship has docked at the port after a sailing where one passenger tested positive for COVID-19.

KOMO News cameras were at the port early Friday morning as the other passengers disembarked from the ship. We confirmed the vaccinated passenger tested positive earlier this week and had to be flown off the ship on a private carrier.

The ship’s captain told passengers Thursday about the case and those we spoke with outside the ship said they appreciated being told.

“I feel like they handled it so well, it wasn’t overwhelming,” passenger Gabi Green said.

Both Grace and Gabi Green said they also approved of the protocol, which included ensuring everyone older than 15 was vaccinated at boarding.

“Honestly I thought their protocol was really cool,” Grace said. “I thought that whole idea of you know, next chance we get we can stop and send you home in a jet if we need to. That was just a cool protocol, I thought they handled it well.”

Celebrity Cruises told KOMO News earlier this week no one else tested positive while anyone who came into close contact with the patient was isolated and tested.
