ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (WPMI) — Thousands of people are expected to show up at The Wharf for the Luke Bryan concert Saturday. It was cancelled last year due to the pandemic. The majority of the tickets sold are from the originally scheduled concert in 2020.
Wharf officials tell NBC 15 that safety is their top priority. Guests are going to be responsible for evaluating their own risk in determining whether to attend or not.
By attending, guests assume all inherent risks associated with exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold the artist, the venue, the event presenter, or any affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, or volunteers liable for any illness or injury,"
Wharf officials said. They expect about 9,000 people to show up, that's 1,000 less than their capacity, according to The Wharf's website.
"We ask that guests are respectful in lines and with our vendors as we utilize sanitizing and safety protocols and practice social distancing whenever possible. The venue has ground stickers marking safe distances in restroom and concession lines and reminder signage throughout the venue," officials added.
They plan to have free masks for people attending if they would like one since they won't be mandatory, just preferred.
Officials say there's going to be limited backstage access as well.
"We are also working closely with the artist’s teams to ensure their safety and following any protocols their tours may have," officials said. "We have limited backstage access for shows and lessened the amount of staff members allowed in the back area."
