Pennsylvania man charged with exposing himself to women in NYC subway system

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — A Pennsylvania man accused of exposing himself to several woman at subway stations throughout the city was arrested Monday.

Jose Lopez, 34, of Upper Darby, has been charged with multiple counts of public lewdness.

Authorities identified him as the man caught by several woman throughout the city’s subway system exposing his genitals and masturbating.

The first incident was reported on Feb. 27 on a northbound M train at the Fresh Pond Road station, according to police. Another incident was reported one day later aboard a southbound R train at the 63rd Drive station in Rego Park.

No further incidents were reported to police until July 3, when Lopez was allegedly spotted exposing himself in the elevator at the 63rd Street and Lexington Avenue subway station.

The most recent incident happened on July 16 around 9 a.m. on the platform for the northbound R train inside the Fifth Avenue and East 59th Street station.

In total, there were at least seven incidents of public lewdness allegedly committed by Lopez.

Authorities did not say why he was in New York City or where he was arrested.
