OAKLAND — A 21-year-old woman was shot in both legs Monday during gunfire in East Oakland, police said.
The woman was listed in stable condition Tuesday morning after suffering critical injuries, and investigators are still looking for the shooter, police said.
The shooting happened at about 11:18 p.m. in the 1700 block of 20th Avenue, and police said officers responded to it after a Shot Spotter activation. Police said arriving officers found the woman down when they arrived.
She went by ambulance to a hospital.
Police said the shooter was a male but had no other information. They said they do not have a motive for the shooting but have not ruled out the possibility that it was an attempted robbery.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to an arrest. Those with information may call Oakland police investigators at 510-238-3821 or 510-238-7950 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
