Upper West Side Pizzeria Named 5th Best In New York City

Mama's TOO! near the corner of West 106th Street and Broadway recently got some incredibly high praise from TimeOut.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Getting named among the best of anything in New York City is no easy feat, but there might be no more competitive category than the top pizza in the five boroughs. Despite the incredible competition, an Upper West Side eatery just got named the fifth-best pizzeria in the entire city.

TimeOut, a popular online guide to the best art, entertainment, and food around the world, recently published "The 29 Best Pizza Places In NYC."

Authors of the rankings named Mama's TOO!, at 2750 Broadway, near the corner of West 106th Street, the fifth-best pizzeria in New York City.

Here's what they had to say about the UWS pizzeria:

"Mama’s Too gives a jolt to the Upper West Side’s restaurant scene. Even its basic house pie, made with aged mozarella, fresh tomato sauce, extra virgin olive oil, Parmigiano Reggiano and basil is evidence of Mama's expertise and attention to detail."

Mama's Too! opened in late 2017 and quickly became incredibly popular. The UWS eatery is best known for its pepperoni square slice, which Grub Street named the second-best slice in New York City.

The New York Times gave it a stellar review in 2018.

The pizzeria spawned out of the first Mama's Pizzeria located a two-minute walk away at 941 Amsterdam Avenue.
