NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after a man was struck and killed while changing a tire overnight on the Long Island Expressway in Queens early Monday.
The 52-year-old man was struck just after 12 a.m. Monday near the overpass at Main Street off Exit 23 in Flushing according to officials.
Authorities said the victim had stopped in the left lane to change a tire when he was struck by a passing motorist.
He was taken to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the NYPD said.
The driver who struck the victim stayed at the scene.
Police said there is no apparent criminality and in investigation is ongoing.
