Woman inside Durham home shot in head

Bullet holes were visible in the siding and in a window that a neighbor told WRAL News was the bedroom of the victim.

Authorities did not release the woman's name or any suspect information. Family members told WRAL News that the woman hit was Sherry Hair.

Authorities would only say that a woman was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The shooting happened just before 3 a.m. in the 600 block of Hickory Street, a police spokesman said.

Neighbors said there was also a man inside the home at the time.
