Police in the triangle are investigating, after a third report of someone using an excavator from a nearby construction site to crack open an ATM.

According to our newsgathering partners WRAL, security cameras show an excavator hitting a Wells Fargo ATM on Park Drive, near N.C. Highway 54, in the Research Triangle Park Thursday. Crews said they found cash on the construction site the next day.
Officials say the same Wells Fargo bank was targeted three weeks ago.
According to police, the Caterpillar construction vehicle can be unlocked using a universal key.
Last weekend, two additional ATM thefts were reported at Coastal Federal Credit Union. A third machine on Page Road in Durham was hit in June.
So far no arrests have been made.
