A woman lost her life in a San Jose hit and run early Friday morning.

On July 23 at roughly 1:39 a.m., San Jose police responded to the intersection of Tully Rd. and La Ragione Ave. after receiving reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

Officers discovered a woman suffering from serious injuries at the scene, but did not find the suspect or the car that hit her.

After conducting a preliminary investigation, officials revealed that the woman was walking outside of the marked crosswalk on Tully Rd. when she was struck by an early 2000’s red sport vehicle traveling the other direction. The unidentified driver of the vehicle then fled the scene.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Police believe the car may have been a Chevrolet Tahoe.
